Prof. Dr. Mehmet TAŞPINAR

Vice President of the Board of Education

He was born in Konya, completed his primary and secondary education in Konya and his higher education at Gazi University, Faculty of Technical Education. He worked as a technical teacher in technical high schools and industrial vocational high schools in Eskişehir and Elazığ between 1984 and 1992.  He started to work as a research assistant at Fırat University, Faculty of Technical Education, Department of Educational Sciences in 1992. He completed his master´s degree in 1993 and his doctorate in 1997 at Fırat University Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Educational Sciences.

He worked as a guest lecturer at Ohio State University, USA in 1994. He became assistant professor in 1997 and associate professor in 2001.  He worked as a visiting professor at Kyrgyzstan-Türkiye Manas University in 2003.  He became a professor at Gazi University, Faculty of Vocational Education, Department of Educational Sciences in 2007. In the same year, with the scholarship of JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency), he spent two months in Japan on "The Role of Private Sector in Vocational Education".

His main field of study is curriculum and instruction, but he also carries out academic studies in the fields of vocational education and teacher training. He worked as an expert, project manager and beneficiary in YÖK -World Bank- Industrial Education Project, MTEM, UNICEF, EU-oriented projects. He has published books, one of which is published abroad; articles and papers published in national and international journals.

As of 04.09.2023, he was appointed as a member of the Board of Education.
