She was born in Germany and completed her primary education there. She completed her undergraduate, graduate and doctoral education at Karadeniz Technical University and worked as a research assistant at the same university between 1998 and 2005. During her master´s and doctoral education, she conducted research at Friedrich Alexander University in Erlangen, Germany, where she took part in international projects. She worked as a lecturer at Sakarya University between 2005 and 2009.
She carried out studies to complete her post-doctorate at the University of Reading, England between 2009 and 2011. Within the scope of the EU project named "HIPST", she participated in applications in primary schools in England. She is currently working as a collaborator in the PALAVA research group in England.
She started to work as a lecturer at Yıldız Technical University, Department of Mathematics and Science Education, Department of Science Education in 2011 and became a professor in the same department in 2019. She held various administrative positions such as head of the department, head of the department, faculty board member.
Her studies are mainly on science education, STEM, teacher education, digital learning objects. She has articles published in national and international refereed journals as well as presentations in congresses and symposiums organised in Türkiye and abroad. She has served as a referee in many journals and as a jury member in international doctoral defence exams (University of Bremen, Germany). She has been involved in various international and national projects, including EU projects, as an executive, researcher, trainer and consultant. She is a book editor and book chapter author for national and international publishing houses.
As of 03.10.2023, she was appointed as a member of the Board of Education.
